Day 32 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”
One of Trump’s “towers” - bankruptcy is on the horizon…
Monday. 9/28/20
7:30-8:00 – Advil and I listen to The Daily with my heating pad.
8:00 – 9:00 - I go downstairs to take the dog out and get my coffee. The dog has NOT had any accidents since I’ve been back. Maybe she’s on her best behavior because she’s so glad I’m home.
The sprinklers are still not working – OMG. I pull up the online manual and try, yet again, to re-program them, setting them for 8:35 as a test. They come on at the correct time, so I set them for 5:30 a.m. tomorrow. I’ll see what happens.
I clean out the exterior fountain.
And yes, L.’s health and dental insurance is still a mess and currently she has no coverage. Although I mailed the two letters to CalPERS that my ex-husband prepared [one signed by me and one signed by my ex - you can read my previous blog entries], the CalPERS employee removed L. from my ex-husband’s insurance, BUT did NOT add L. to my insurance because the CalPERS employee didn’t bother to read the second letter that was attached. My ex called CalPERS and discovered this information then called me this morning. The CalPERS employee told him she will fix everything but I don’t believe anything these people say.
9:00-10:00 – Shower. Light make-up. I wear a sun dress – super hot today.
10:00-10:30 – I field emails from College No. 1.
10:30-1:00 – B. arrives with coffee. We sit outside at my patio table and talk politics.
1:00 – 1:30 - B. leaves and I make scrambled eggs with cheese and place them in a bowl with spinach and zuchinni pieces.
Breaking News: The NY Times was somehow able to acquire the past 20 years of Trump’s tax returns. I take the next hour to read the entire expose and I now know why Trump did everything in his power to bury his returns. It’s called tax evasion, Mr. President, and it’s a felony on multiple counts. When all else fails, the federal government tends to move forward on tax fraud charges, like with Jimmy Hoffa, Al Capone, Martha Stewart [well, that was mostly insider trading], and Abby from the show Dance Moms…etc.
There is no way to preserve the President’s ego with this information: A) If the president claims that he is using righteous losses to offset paying taxes, then he’s an incompetent business man – his properties and brand are hemorrhaging money, he’s filed bankruptcy 6 times, and he owes millions on loans that are coming due in 2022; B) If the president claims he truly is a billionaire, then, by law, he had to pay his taxes – by not paying a federal income tax, the president is exposing himself to multiple felony counts of tax fraud.
He’s either incompetent or a felon. There is no way around it.
Did I mention that over 200,000 Americans have died from Covid-19 because the President has been too busy devising schemes to defraud the government? Do you know what patriotism means, Mr. President? I doubt it.
L.’s new coffee table arrives. She puts it together, then she and N. go to the grocery store. She leaves huge cardboard packing boxes in the center of the living room. I guess I’m supposed to break them down for recycling???
2:30-5:30 – Time for Specialty Class No. 1. Today’s menu: We’re having a Socratic Seminar so the students have to respond to two other students’ commentary on the Discussion Board as well as submit a paper. Lecture starts at 3:30 and the Chapter Review Quiz is due at the end of class [5:30]. We will also be watching the first part of a documentary at 5:00. Part II of the documentary is scheduled for next week.
The students email me their papers throughout the class as they follow the itinerary.
L. and N. return from the grocery store. They put the food away, then hang some bats on the porch and put spider webs in the bushes. Looks pretty good! Halloween is our favorite holiday.
6:00 – 9:00 - I’m sick and exhausted. Even though we now have food in the house, I’m too tired to prepare it. I suggest take-out and L. goes to Thai Dishes and places the order in person because their phones are down. She returns with pineapple fried rice and spring rolls for me and something??? for her. The food is excellent. We listen to two episodes of Spooked while we eat and then I play Case File – The Strip Search Scam for L. She likes it.
9:00-11:00 – L. works on a homework assignment and I get completely caught up with my blog posts.
11:30 – 12:00 – L. comes into my room to read a post that she’s preparing for the Discussion Board in one of her classes about the crappy education she had in high school. Very funny and horrifying at the same time.
12:30-2:00 - The kitchen is a mess. I do the dishes, organize/arrange food in the refrigerator, and make my coffee for tomorrow. I also turn off all the exterior Halloween lights.
2:00-3:00 - Night time routine. Bed.
