Day 33 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”

The dog ‘hurls’ in three locations…

Upon checking Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”, Los Angeles remains in the “purple” Widespread category. Why, then, are nail salons and indoor malls allowed to open at all? On 9/30/20, the Governor gave the go-ahead to open indoor malls at 25% capacity and “play grounds.” News flash Californians…playgrounds have been “in play” and open since Covid-19’s inception. How else do you think WFH parents have maintained their sanity this entire time? Just go to any park “at a location nearest you” and you’ll see children playing on the jungle gym with gusto.

Meanwhile, the Sunshine state is open for business!!! Indoor dining at 100% capacity and a “no-mask mandate.” No, that’s not a typo. Governor DeSantis says going maskless is A-Ok, while making someone wear a mask is against the law. With 712,000 Covid-19 cases and 14,500 deaths thus far, what could possibly go wrong? 127 new Covid-19 deaths and 2628 new Covid-19 cases were reported for 10/1/20. Lets have a round of applause for DeSantis and the Sunshine state for his incredibly stupid decision to open Florida at full capacity. Better watch out for those Florida oranges - at the rate the Sunshine state is going, their fruit is infected, too.

The debate between Biden and Trump is scheduled for tonight. B. is going to record it and we’ll watch tomorrow at his house, when we have “Tent Time.”

Tuesday. 9/29/20

7:30 - 8:00 - Up and I go downstairs and take the dog out. She goes potty and we come inside for cheese and coffee. The sprinklers are still NOT coming on so I take some time to try to reprogram them…again.

8:00 - 9:00 - Shower. Dress in Covid-19 uniform. Light make-up. I leave for my therapy appointment with my coffee in tow. I listen to The Daily and Today Explained-Amy Coney Barrett

9:30-10:00 - I have my bi-weekly 30-minute session. I mask, my therapist doesn’t, but we social distance - she sits all the way across the room. It’s been three weeks since my last session so it’s good to see her.

10:00-12:00 - I drive around my community, checking to see what’s open, what’s closed. I end up at Orchard Park for a while, but am absolutely exhausted. I listen to Best of Both Worlds.

12:00 - 2:30 - Home and I lie down. Do I have Covid-19? I take a nap.

2:30-4:00 - I read In Order to Live and have last night’s pineapple rice and the two remaining spring rolls for lunch.

4:00-7:00 - I do class prep for my morning classes tomorrow and field emails from students at Colleges No. 1 and No. 2. I listen to Fresh Air - Inside the Mueller Investigation while I work. I update the attendance that I missed when I was in Catalina and listen to New Yorker - Politics and More: Can a Newcomer Unseat Lindsey Graham? and AirTalk.

7:30-8:00 - I take the dog for a walk and listen to True Crime Garage.

8:00-9:00 - I leave for Whole Foods to get a few 4-packs of Prosecco-in-a can. The store closes at 9:00 and there is nobody here. When I return home, I discover that the dog has vomited all over the house: two spots in the kitchen and a huge amount on my living room couch. It is truly disgusting.

9:15-10:15 - I do a 1-hour HIIT, full-body circuit, with 5-pound weights.

10:15 - 11:00 - I clean the kitchen and then make salads for B. and I for tomorrow’s “camp-out” at B.s I start with spinach, then add cheese, tomatoes, zucchini, boiled eggs and EVOO to the salads.

11:00 - 12:00 - I start boiling water for a meal that I’m preparing that should last most of the week. While the water heats up, I go outside and water my plants.

12:00-2:00-I boil cheese tortellinni, drain it, then add chicken broth, stewed tomatoes, and zucchini. After, I clean the kitchen.

2:00-3:00 - Night time routine. Bed
