Day 22 of rollback-California Covid-19 spike-Governor shuts us down

Harbor Cove Beach…

Harbor Cove Beach…

Monday. 8/3/20

Class enrollment still at 16…

7:30-8:30 - I didn’t sleep well last night and I wake up feeling sick. I’m not sure if this is psychosomatic after the news I received yesterday about my possible Covid-19 exposure. At 8:00, I go downstairs and take the dog out. She pooped in the middle of the dining room so I open the downstairs windows. I give her cheese and pieces of chicken, then I grab my coffee and return upstairs. I lay in bed and listen to What a Day and Start Here.

8:30-10:00 - Shower and I listen to Crime Junkie. I put on my bathing suit and finish packing my beach bag.

9:00 - L leaves for work.

10:00-11:00 - I bring all of the throws and floor mats downstairs and put them where they belong. I fold my laundry and towels and then put everything away. I unload the dishwasher from last night. A few packages arrived so I unpack the toiletries and put those away, too. I feel feverish, but I can’t tell if I’m having hot flashes [peri-menopausal] or if I have Covid-19. I think it’s 105-110 today, although the air conditioner is on inside the house.

I should try to get in a work-out, but why should I if I have Covid?

12:00 - 1:15 - I grab my lunch and beach bags and take the dog out one last time. I make sure my beach blanket and portable chair are in the trunk and I leave for Ventura. I listen to This is Unpleasant along the way and eat two cookies.

1:15-2:30 - I go to Harbor Cove Beach. It’s 65 degrees here and very overcast - looks like rain so I don’t set up “beach camp.” I walk around instead. This is my first time to Harbor Cove and I wanted to come here because the parking is free. I love it! It truly is a little cove - a sandy beach surrounded by piles of rocks. No waves and the water is lapping at the sand. Really peaceful. If you walk a few meters to the left, you’re out of the cove and at a regular beach in case you change your mind about the cove experience.

Across the street is the marina. There are several restaurants here and I think there’s outdoor dining. The city designated a “grassy knoll” as “Take-out Space” between the restaurants and people brought portable chairs with them so they can eat their to-go food on the grass while staring at the marina, social distancing of course. It’s very picturesque.

I will definitely be back.

2:30-3:45 - I drive home. On the way back, I take the exit to Lake Piru so I can see what it looks like, but the lake is closed. I eat my salad on the drive home and listen to This is Uncomfortable.

4:00-5:15 - Home and I take a nap.

5:30-7:00 - I update my blog.

7:00 - 7:30 - L. returns from work. She had a bad day so we talk about it.

7:30-8:30 - More blog entries.

8:30-9:30 - I talk to B. He’s been on a road trip for the past 8 days, driving from Sacramento to Washington and back through Oregon, Fresno, etc. While in Washington, he went on a Bigfoot expedition. Pretty cool!

9:30-10:30 - I finish my blog entries.
