Day 47 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”
L. is making sangria mocktails for Sunday’s soiree…
Tuesday. 10/13/20.
7:30 - 7:45 - I’m up and I take the dog out. She does her business and we go back inside. Cheese. I warm up my coffee then move L.’s car and bring in my trashcans. I pick up dog poop and wipe my patio table down. When I’m done with all that, I go through the mail, then start a load of towels.
7:45-8:45 - Upstairs and Shower. Today, I wear a slightly dressy, silk, leopard-print tank-top with black jeggings and flats. I think it’s time to start wearing my other clothes. Just because I’m not working doesn’t mean that they can’t be worn for leisure.
8:45-9:15 - I wipe down my bathroom counters and clean my mirror and toilet. Towels in the drier and I wash a comforter next.
9:15 - 10:30 - I leave for my therapy appointment. I mask and she doesn’t, although she sits 12 feet back. Done at 10:00 and I return home.
11:00-2:00 - B. arrives with coffee and we sit outside, on my patio, and talk politics. It’s unseasonably warm and I’m sweating. I show B. a stack of papers that I’ve already graded - the comments are extensive because, sadly, a good portion of my students got Ds and Fs on their written assignment. B. leaves after a few hours.
When I come back inside, I see that the dog has peed all over the floor! She hasn’t urinated in the house in over a year - this is so distressing. I ask L. to clean it up, which she does.
2:00-5:00 - Back inside and I prepare everything for my Wed. morning classes. I start loading a 50-question Midterm into Canvas for Specialty Class No. 2. Each question has 4 possible answers and ALL of them have to be loaded manually, one at a time. While I’m mindlessly loading questions, I watch the Liberty documentary, stopping to pause at the sections I think will make a good multiple choice question for the video quiz I’m designing for my 8-week class.
5:00 - 7:30 - I leave for the Library so I can pick up my books, but when I arrive, they’re closed. Apparently, they close at 5:00 now and I still don’t have my books.
-L. needs orange liqueur for the Sangrias she will be making for Sunday’s soiree so I go to Bev-Mo and buy Triple-Sec. I also take the opportunity to purchase some champagne because of the “buy one, get one for .05 cents” sale.
-I stop at Staples and drop off 12 ink cartridges so I can get a coupon for a free ink cartridge. It’s also good to recycle.
-I pull cash out for gas.
7:30-8:30 - I have a salad and read Why Did I Get a B?
9:00-12:30 - I make a citrus chicken dish that involves baking chicken, making rice, and steaming carrots and green peppers that I personally had to chop up. I prepare my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow [salad and Greek plain yogurt with diced apple and walnuts for the morning] then clean the kitchen and shut down the house.
1:00-2:00 – Night time routine. Bed.
