Day 48 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”
Quiz Day…
Wednesday. 10/14/20
8:00 - 11:00 - Up and I head downstairs for my morning classes. I take the dog out and she goes potty. Cheese and I get my coffee, then head into my home office. I post the prompt on both Discussion Boards, then finish loading questions for the Midterm for my Specialty No. 2 class (the Midterm is tomorrow). Class ends and I update attendance for both classes. I have Greek plain yogurt with apples and walnuts.
L. leaves for work at the Art Studio.
12:00-1:00 - I’m going to call today, “Quiz Day” because I spend all day designing quizzes for my six classes. I continue watching the Liberty video and eventually finish the video quiz for that video. Then, I load it into my new 8-week class.
L. returns for a long lunch break with a CPK pizza. She graciously allows me to have a slice.
I phone into a seminar that’s convened through College No. 1 in order to discuss a text that I’ve never read. I need additional hours for my CEs and this covers a “Standard 1” component. I say nothing on the phone, but the commentary sounds interesting (I don’t know what they’re talking about).
1:00-6:00 - I watch The Patriot Act - We’re Doing Elections Wrong and design a video quiz. Then, I upload it, manually, to 4 Canvas classes. I update my PP Slides for Chapters 9 and 10, then upload all of them to four of my Canvas classes.
6:00-7:00 - I update my blog.
7:30–8:30 - Shower, braid hair, and read Why Did I Get a B?
8:30–9:00 – I take the dog for a walk.
9:00-10:00 – I have citrus chicken, white rice, and steamed vegetables. I finish Why Did I get a B? This was an excellent book. The author taught high school students at a terrible NY inner city school, then later found employment as an adjunct college instructor. She is very candid with the stories she shares regarding her students, particularly when it concerns their rude behavior. I actually think my experiences are worse, but I guess it’s not a pissing contest.
10:00-11:00 - I try to get motivated to do a workout but accidentally fall asleep. Oops.
11:00-12:00 – Spend this time deleting podcasts from my Ipad. My Ipad storage is full and I can’t download podcasts until I free up space.
1:00–2:00 – I do a HIIT workout full body circuit app, with 5-pound weights.
L. is still awake, watching an assigned movie for her cinema college class. I ask L. what her schedule is tomorrow and she says she is leaving at 10:00, which never happens. I had planned on preparing an Audio Lecture for Specialty Class No. 2 in the later morning, but now that’s over. L. is the only one with the technology [her laptop] to air drop my lectures into Canvas once I’ve recorded them on my Ipad. This means my lecture needs to be ready to load by 10:00 tomorrow morning. It is now 2:30 a.m.
2:30 – 3:00 – Light kitchen duty although I leave some dishes in the sink tonight.
3:00 – 4:30 – Prepare audio clips for 9 PP slides for Specialty Class No. 2 so I can start recording first thing in the morning, before L. leaves at 10:00.
4:30-5:30 - Night time routine. Bed.
