Day 68 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”
The picture says it all…
Tuesday. 11/3/20. Election Day.
7:30 - 8:15 - I have my 8-week accelerated class this morning. Downstairs and the dog is asleep on her back. I rub her tummy - three times, like a genie lamp - before she will finally jump down and go outside. She goes potty and we go back inside the house. Cheese for her, coffee for me. I go to work.
8:15-11:00 - It’s just a straight lecture today. I catch up on my paper attendance and finish grading two Extra Credit assignments that trickled in, late. I read online news throughout the morning and listen to The Daily.
The polls are trash and wrong again. After today, I will never take another poll seriously again. There was no blue wave and it will be a miracle if Biden squeaks this out. The Dems aren’t going to take the Senate and, oddly, the Republicans are gaining seats in the House. 538 and Nate Silver should really cease to exist after this. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, America has 100,000+ Covid-19 infections today and the virus is spiking throughout the midwest, coincidentally where the dirty Trumpers congregated, maskless and on top of each other, at his numerous, stupid rallies.
11:00-1:00- I have a chocolate croissant from L.’s Porto leftovers, finish my coffee, and read Welcome to Wherever. I go back to bed for a little while. Exhausted.
2:00-4:00- I check electoral college totals and read online news. We still don’t know who our next president is. I listen to What a Day and update my blog.
4:00-5:00 - Shower. Covid-19 uniform.
6:00-7:30 - I do a 1-hr HIIT Full Body Circuit with 5-pound weights.
7:30-8:00 - I take the dog for a walk. Halloween decorations throughout the neighborhood are all gone and I’m sad :-( I really enjoyed them while they lasted.
8:00-9:30 - I eat leftover kielbasa from my night at B.’s - no bun - and add mustard and relish. It’s quite good!! I read more of Welcome to Wherever. I’m going hiking tomorrow, so I pick out my clothes for the next day and get everything ready for the morning.
9:30-11:00 - Downstairs and I go to work (enter my home office). I ready the Discussion Board prompts for my three morning classes tomorrow and check class content. In between, to mix it up, I start taking down the more difficult, cumbersome interior Halloween decorations so putting the remaining decorations away tomorrow will be smoother.
11:00-1:30 - I have got to cook this ground turkey or it’s going to turn. I make Greek Nachos, a standard recipe that I have in my repertoire. There’s a lot to it - I have to chop tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and olives. All of this while the turkey browns. Unfortunately, I’m out of significant ingredients - like red wine vinegar and red onion - so this dish is not going to taste as good as it normally does. I listen to Spooked while I work.
-While I make the Greek Nachos, I prepare my insulated lunch bag for tomorrow’s hike.
-1:30-2:00 - I clean the kitchen and ready my coffee for tomorrow.
-Upon finishing, I see that the dog has vomited twice, in two locations, on the floor. I feel like crying, but clean it up, nevertheless.
2:00-2:15 - I take the dog outside to go potty and a huge rat scurries the length of my retaining wall and up a tree. I finally, finally realize that this is why the dog has been alerting at the base of my tree over these past months. Great.
2:15-3:15 - Nighttime routine. I check electoral college results. We still don’t know who our next president is. Bed.
