Day 68 - Governor Newsom imposes new restrictions

B117 - the more deadly variant from the UK…

Breaking news: This just in.  Boris Johnson reports that the UK variant – B117 – is 50% more transmissible AND 30% more deadly. It’s been found in 20 states thus far…

9:00 –9:30 -  I time-blocked my day.  Up and I take the dog out.  No accidents. Cheese for her and coffee for me.  I go upstairs.

9:30-10:30 – I read The Pregnancy Project.

10:30-12:00 – Blog post

12:00 – 1:00 - I have a pre-made salad then color my hair.

1:00-2:00 – Spa Day. Blow dry my hair. I touch up my nail polish on fingers and toes.

-L. goes to work.

2:00-2:30 – Lotion. Covid-19 uniform.

2:30-3:30 – I have to attend a mandatory webinar for the online Distance Education course I’m taking through College No. 2. I  Zoom in and set up my black screen. The speaker seems really competent and discusses expectations for teaching online, but I really have no idea what he’s talking about and leave the room 10 minutes later. I don’t return.

-Pack an overnight bag and load some things in the car.

3:45-4:00 - The seminar must have ended because nobody is left in the Zoom meeting. I log out.

4:15-4:45 – I do a 30-minute speed walking app on the treadmill.

4:45-5:15 – I pack my lunch bag and take the dog out.

5:45 – 6:05 - Leave for B.’s house.  I’m nearly there when I realize I left my lunch bag at home.  I turn around.  It’s raining.

6:05-7:00 – Home to collect my lunch bag. Then drive to B.’s.  Again.

7:00-9:30 - Cocktail hour and we talk politics.  Dinner is Trader Joe salad,  ‘wild caught’ salmon, and a baked potato.  It’s exceptional.

-Although Magic Mountain’s drive-thru vaccine program is ongoing and B. is in the appropriate Tier, he is unable to schedule an appointment or even speak with a health care official regarding inoculation.  How do people get vaccinated around here?  And why are some people able to make appointments when others have no clue as to what is going on?  This whole vaccination program is such a “cluster-f**k.”

9:30-11:45 – B. and I watch the first two episodes of How to Fix a Drug Scandal. He likes it.
