Towsley Canyon hike…

Towsley Canyon hike…

2/28/10.  Sunday

8:00 – 8:30 - I set my alarm for this morning. Up and I go downstairs to say good morning to the dog. This is too early for her and she’s still asleep. I rub her tummy three times, she grabs her toy, and we go outside. The dog pooped in two locations on the patio so I clean it up. Back inside and I give the dog chicken for her treat; coffee for me. I unload the dishwasher.

8:30-9:30 – Shower. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform. Light make-up. I listen to the Culture Gabfest.

B. arrives and we drive to Ed Davis Park in Towsley Canyon.

9:30-9:45 – Driving

9:45-11:30 – B. and I take a 90-minute hike through the canyon and up the side of a mountain.

11:30-12:00 – Driving. Starbucks.

12:00-2:00 – B. and I drink coffee at my patio table and talk politics. He places a washer over the screw where my macramé mirror is hanging so it won’t blow off during some of the wind storms we’ve been having.

-B. leaves

2:30-3:00-L is awake and making gourmet avocado toast.  She makes an avocado paste and smears that, along with goat cheese, pomegranate seeds, pine nuts, and pesto sauce, all over a thick piece of French bread.  It’s delicious. She also makes a rosemary-grapefruit juice mocktail.

3:00-3:30 – I take a nap.

3:30-5:30 – I convince L. to watch the first two episodes of Lupin with me. She likes the series.

6:00 – 8:30 - B. called in a to-go order at Margaritas then picks me up.  We grab the food and head to his house so we can watch two shows he recorded.  I don’t have access to the movie 1917 or Women In Blue, a PBS documentary featuring 4 female cops in Minneapolis.

-Cocktail hour!!! I have chicken taquitos with rice and beans and B. has something???  My food is really good and B. makes margaritas. We start with 1917.  The movie is very good!  I read that the director tried to simulate “one shot” photography in order to make it look as if the movie was filmed with one long, rolling shot – no breaks.  I believe the director is successful…to the average viewer, that’s exactly what it looks like – the movie doesn’t stop!  It’s a nail biter and I’m glad I saw it.

8:30-10:30 – Next is Women in Blue.  This is a documentary featuring 4 female police officers who work for the Minneapolis police department.  The first 75 minutes covers the years before Floyd’s death…so only 15 minutes of the documentary addresses the incident that sparked so much unrest and numerous BLM protests across America.  Having said that, I like the documentary and I’m glad I watched it.

10:30-11:00 – B. drives me home.

11:00-12:00 – Home and L. did the dishes.  Yay!!

12:00-1:00 – Night time routine. Bed.
