L. knows everything about You Tube influencers…

L. knows everything about You Tube influencers…

2/27/21. Saturday.

8:00 – L. leaves for work.  I hear the garage door open and close, then I go back to sleep.

9:30 – 10:00 - I’m up and I go downstairs to say good morning to the dog. She’s taking a nap so I rub her tummy three times, she grabs her toy, and we go outside.  She does her business and back inside we go – a few pieces of boiled chicken for her treat and coffee for me.

Today is a leisurely day, for once.

10:00-11:30 – Kitchen duty. I also sweep and clean out the fresh flowers that R. has given L. recently.  I listen to Fresh Air – My Teacher the Octopus while I work. I haven’t seen the documentary yet but I want to. I dust the TV cabinet in the living room. I pack a lunch bag with snacks for tomorrow, then bring in packages from outside and check the mail.

11:30-12:30 – Shower. I wash my hair. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform. I listen to Martinis and Your Money – Happy Hour.

11:30-1:30 – Upstairs.  This week, I’ve been paring down my closet and dresser drawers whenever I have a free moment. I’ve set aside around 50 pieces of clothing for Goodwill and I’m going through each dresser drawer systematically and throwing things away, like old greeting cards, threadbare tights, socks, etc.  Today, I continue with this project. I listen to On Point and discard old jewelry items that I no longer wear and clear out another dresser drawer. I’m almost done with this project.  I wipe down my bathroom counters and sinks.

1:30-2:15 – I make a big spinach salad, with tomatoes, boiled eggs, and cheese and read the last of the Money Diaries. I’m completely caught up - now I’m forced to start a new book.

2:15-3:00 -  I take the dog for a walk. I listen to Organize 365.

3:15-4:00 –Yard work.  I take a small cluster of white lights that I placed in my trellis and move them to a plant stand that I have against the wall.  Looks much better but was somewhat difficult to rewire. I listen to True Crime Garage.

-L. returns from work, exhausted.  She worked a 7-hour shift. We talk about her day for a little while.

4:00-6:30 – I make White Bean and Chicken Chili using the boiled chicken that I prepared yesterday.  It tastes pretty good, if I do say so myself.

6:30-8:30 – I eat my dinner and watch Lupin on Netflix.  Although I’ve heard of the show, my therapist actually recommended the series because she knows I take French classes [this is a French series]. I love it and watch two episodes.

9:00-11:30 – Blog posts.

11:30 – 1:00 – L. suggests we watch the Britney Spears documentary, Framing Britney Spears.

At some point, we pause the documentary and L. goes down the “You Tube” rabbit hole, where she discusses the OG’s of the platform and how Vines collapsed and Viners jumped onto the You Tube platform, but then were reborn on the Tik Tok platform, although Tik Tok videos are 1 minute and Vines videos were cut off at 7 seconds.

I have to say, nobody is more knowledgeable about the history of You Tube influencers and their evolution then L.  She could actually teach a college course on the subject or write a 25,000-word editorial in the Rolling Stones about this genre. Her mastery of this material is incredible and, without any notes, she can name and discuss the various influencers and their rise, fall, and ultimate demise, complete with the year and incident that led to their downfall and their followers’ disappearance.  A true lecturer.

You know that political scientist who’s been writing about LBG his entire life? [Robert Caro].  Well, that’s L. when it comes to You Tube.  If a college department ever needs an  instructor to teach this niche material, L. would get the job, hands down. She could probably knock out a dissertation on this subject in 6 months, if given the opportunity. Her mastery of the subject matter is pretty remarkable.

1:00-1:40 – The documentary ends and it was quite good. Great recommendation from L.  Night time routine and bed. A nice, relaxing day.
