Day 29 of rollback-California Covid-19 spike-Governor shuts us down

School starts in five days…

Georgia’s North Paulding High School has been shut down for three days…

Monday. 8/10/20

Class enrollment moves back to 19.

9:30 – 10:30 - I’m at B’s so I get to sleep in - no dog. Up and shower while B. leaves to get coffee, donuts (for him), and an apple (for me). B. returns with “the goods” as he calls them.

10:30-1:00- We eat breakfast outside, on his patio, and gaze at his “golf course backyard.” When I’m finished eating, I pack up everything and take off.

1:30 – 3:30 - Home and I water my plants. R. and L. were able to get everything on my grocery list – thanks guys! - so I re-arrange the food items in the pantry and the fridge.  I bring in all my bags, unpack everything, and start a load of laundry. As usual, it is so hot…I don’t feel like doing anything. I bring in the trashcans.

3:30-4:30 – I make a salad and read a Money Diary.

4:30 – 5:30 – I pull the syllabi for my two specialty classes and examine.  I’m trying to come up with new ideas and teaching tools that I can utilize via the virtual education platform. I field a few emails and make a list of those students who are interested in waiving the Golden Class prerequisite.

7:00-9:30 – I make an Italian Spinach Macaroni dish. It has a lot of moving parts so the kitchen is destroyed when I’m finished.  I have to clean it (sigh). I listen to parts of the Global News Podcast and Marketplace.

10:00 – 12:30 - I go upstairs and see that L. is re-watching Us on her laptop.  I join her and we watch, while intermittently talking about her college prospects.  I tell L. I need to bounce a few ideas off of her regarding my classes after the movie – she’s a great problem solver. I think she gets this trait from my parents.

12:30 – 1:00 - I run a few things by L. after the movie.  She’s not happy about it because it’s so late, but together we brainstorm an issue I’m having with the “synchronous” nature of my classes. L. solves the problem and we part ways. I’m pretty happy about the solution.

1:00-2:00 – Night time routine with a couple Forensic Files episodes thrown in. Bed.
