Day 20 - California Reopening Plan - Phase 3
Pancake brunch…
8:30 - I’m up and I take the dog out and give her cheese. Then, I go back upstairs and get dressed.
8:50-9:30 - I take a bike ride around our lake and stop in the middle to eat two cookies.
9:30-11:00 - Spa day and I take my braids out. Light make-up and I put on a summer dress.
11:00 - 4:00 - B. picks me up and we go to Crazy Ottos to pick up the breakfast he ordered. We bring it back to his house and have champagne brunch - complete with Mimosas using the TJ OJ that L. picked up for me - outside on his patio. B. has a great backyard and it’s a beautiful day. I have half a pancake with fruit and a side order of bacon. Everything tastes really good!
6:00 - 8:00 - The play Slow Food is scheduled to start through a link offered by the Torrance Playhouse Theater so B. and I click on and it’s a huge disappointment. The premise of the play involves a long-time married couple, dining in a restaurant, and discussing the state of their marriage with, of all people, the waiter. HOWEVER, as a member of the audience, we’re not watching a married couple dining at a restaurant. INSTEAD, it’s three separate squares containing the waiter’s head; the wife’s head; and the husband’s head. They’re speaking their lines, in their own boxes - it’s ridiculous (sorry Torrance Playhouse) and I ask B. to shut it down 15 minutes in.
8:00-10:00 - B. and I leave his house and end up settling in, with drinks, at MY back patio, for a couple of hours. I have an early work day tomorrow, so he leaves around 10:00 and I go to bed around 11:30 as L. is out with R. at the lake.
2:30 a.m. - …and I’m up. I’m really anxious about tomorrow’s interview as it’s the first in-person interview I’ve had at the office since Covid-19 (I think February was my last in-person subject interview) and I’m not sure of the interview logistics in our conference room. There is an allegation that this doctor has Parkinsons so we need to see him in person to evaluate - we can’t do a conference call. Also, I’m having hot and cold flashes - is it Covid 19 or perimenopause? I take Advil and turn on the air conditioner, but don’t go back to sleep until around 5:00 a.m.
