Grading papers…

Grading papers…

3/13/21. Saturday - Spring Break at College No. 1 - Trying to get some work done this week.

8:00 – L. leaves for work.

10:30 – 11:00 - Up and I go downstairs to greet the dog. She’s on her hind legs at the child gate, wagging her tail.  She grabs her toy and we go outside immediately.  The dog does her business and back inside we go – cheese for her, coffee for me.

11:00-1:00 – I go straight upstairs and start grading the papers that I received two Mondays ago from Specialty Class 1A. I grade Question 1 from Group 1 for five papers.

1:00-3:00 – Break and I go downstairs to perform different work to clear my head.  I heat up some of L.’s soup from 10 days ago and enter my office.

College No. 1 created their OWN DE course and I see I’m finally enrolled. It’s a 6-module course that meets EVERY Friday, from 11:00-3:00, for 6 weeks.  I will allegedly receive a $2000 stipend when this is over.

-I go through Module 0 and watch all the videos, take three quizzes, and perform TWO Self-Assessments that are supposed to tell me what kind of student I am and if I’m tech-savvy enough to teach online.  Too late, now.  I’ve been doing it for a year.

-While the videos are playing, I finish posting my February expenditures to my spreadsheet. I also tighten up my Indochine summary for my French Cinema class and post to the Discussion Board.

3:00-7:00 – Grade papers.

-L. leaves for Target, then returns a short time later.

7:00-8:00 – Break and I talk to L. while she screen shots my assignments for my DE class and air drops the three lectures I recorded this week.

-L. returns from Target with…mini Cadbury eggs!!! Yay!!!

8:00-10:00 - Finish with Group 1 papers, but I still have to scan and store them so I can pass them back on Monday. I’m still in my pajamas.  Embarrassing, but I’m on a deadline – there is no time for self-care.

10:00-11:00 – I change into work-out clothes and do an Insanity workout.  This one is 40 minutes and called Cardio and Resistance. I don’t stop and go the distance, although towards the end the reps I’m doing are slower than the athletes in the video.

11:00-12:00 – Recover.  Glass of champagne and I finish A Memoir in Dog Years.

This is a memoir detailing the death of a marriage and a beloved beagle simultaneously. I really enjoyed it! Unfortunately, the wrong one died. The husband is an a—hole and secretly cheating on the author with a Miami girlfriend. The husband decides to “date” the author [his own WIFE] to see if their marriage will improve while he continues his affair.  Did I mention he quit his job as a lawyer to pursue “his music”?? He’s 43. Sadly, the author’s beagle died even though she spent thousands trying to cure his kidney disease.  The devotion she had to her dog is unparalleled, although she tried quite earnestly to save her marriage, too.  Like I said…the wrong one died.

12:00-1:00 – Shower.  Wash and braid hair.  I listen to Case File. I have some cheese and crackers. Night time routine.

1:00-3:30 – I find another paper from Group 1.  The writing is so terrible that it takes an hour to grade 3 prompts.  I keep falling asleep, but finally finish. I get everything ready for tomorrow so I can jump right in and start grading the Group #2 papers.

3:30-4:30 – I’m having difficulty falling asleep so I have another glass of champagne and listen to Southern Fried Crime. Bed.
