Day 13 - LA County enters Red tier for the first time

Bike ride today…

3/27/21. Saturday.

8:00 - I hear the garage door open as L. leaves for work. I go back to sleep.

9:00 -10:00 - I’m up and I go downstairs to say good morning to the dog. She’s asleep on the couch, even though L. woke her up an hour ago. I rub her tummy three times, she grabs her toy, and we go outside. She runs around the yard, but doesn’t do anything. Maybe she went potty with L.? Inside for her treat - salami pieces - and my coffee.

-What a beautiful day! I sit outside, drink my coffee, and read Daffodils.

10:00-10:30 - Wash face. Brush teeth. Dress in Bike uniform. I grab my bike bag, snacks I prepared last night, and my Hydro.

10:30-12:30 - I bike to Magic Mtn, although the path ends well before MM. This time, I make a left turn, cross the wooden bridge, and keep going. I bike past a pond that looks really interesting, so I take the time to stop, eat my strawberries and chocolate chips, and drink water. I’m near an apartment complex and it’s surrounded by power lines - I don’t think I would ever live here…

The return ride is a bit harder as I’m biking against the wind. I can really feel it.

12:30-3:00 - Home and I get the papers I need to grade and my book, then leave for coffee at Undergrounds.

-Undergrounds is closed Friday and Saturday. Darn! I drive to Starbucks and buy a grilled cheese sandwich and coffee with my gift card.

-To West Creek Park. I unfurl my picnic blanket under a tree and sit and grade papers. I eat my grilled cheese and drink my coffee while I work. By 3:00, it is too windy to continue so I leave.

3:00-4:00 - Home and I sit outside, at my patio table, and continue grading papers.

4:00-4:45 - I take the dog for a walk. I listen to Fresh Air.

-L. and R. leave for miniature golf in Sherman Oaks.

4:45 - 6:00 - I make a spinach salad sans tomatoes [we’re out] and eat while I read Daffodils. I’m trying to hit my reading goal for this month, but I’m not sure it’s going to happen. Work got in the way.

6:00-7:30 - I finish watching The Investigation (submarine case) series. Highly recommend.

7:30-8:30 - I place L.’s newly framed art, then clean the kitchen, and sweep the floors.

8:30-9:30 - Yard work. More leaves, more sweeping. I also sanitize the Astroturf.

-L. and R. return and watch The Hunchback of Notredame.

-9:30-11:30 - Blog posts

-11:30-1:00 - L. comes into my room for a chit-chat. We talk about college and her future.

1:00-1:30 - Night time routine. Bed.
