I watched the first hour of Indochine, today, for my French Cinema class…

3/11/21. Thursday - Spring Break at College No. 1 - Trying to get some work done this week.

11:00 – 12:00 - I’m up and I start a load of laundry. Downstairs and the dog pooped near the front door again. Surprisingly, she’s asleep.  I rub her tummy three times, she grabs her toy, and we go outside.  The rain stopped momentarily, but it’s still really wet outside. Back inside and grapes for her treat; coffee for me. Again with the broom. “I get a broom from the garage and push up places in my outdoor canopy where the water has collected.  If I don’t do that, the canopy will collapse in on itself.”

Kitchen duty.

12:00 – 1:30  - I read A Marriage in Dog Years.

-L. is trying to get something going with a different internship.  She texted Aunt C. and was referred to The Met’s director, SM, in New York. L. prepares an email requesting an internship and runs it by me for suggestions. It can stand on its own, but I provide some input.

1:30-2:00 – Covid-19 uniform. Wash face. Brush teeth.

2:00-2:30 - More apple slices, almond butter, and grapes. I read a Money Diary.

2:30-3:30 – I do an Insanity workout. This is a 38-minute workout called Pure Cardio. I’m improving.  I was able to go 28 minutes straight, only stopping three times for a couple of seconds.  Unfortunately, I cannot go the rest of the video without my body giving out.  The participants in the video start collapsing around this time, ALTHOUGH they eventually get up, typically after a 1-minute respite, and finish.

-L. goes to work.

3:30-4:00-Recover. Shower. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform.

Still raining.  No dog walk, no yard work.

4:00-6:30 – I make a fried rice dish and add red bell pepper, peas, zucchini, eggs, onions, green onions, and soy sauce. I do all the dishes and clean the entire kitchen. I listen to the Political Gabfest.

6:30-7:00 – I watch the first half of Indochine in my office.  This time, I take notes as I watch the movie so I don’t have to go back and do double duty like I did for Au Revoir, which was an inefficient use of my time. I like the film, but have some issues with it that I’m supposed to write about on the Discussion Board.

7:00-7:30 – L. returns from work and we talk about her day. She eats my fried rice dish and says it’s good.

7:30-9:30 – I review my Specialty Class 1A Chapter 8 lecture notes in greater detail, select musical clips for the slides, and revise the Chapter 8 Review Quiz. It’s ready to record.

-I send L. the second round of edits for the Chapter 8 Google slides.

-I check email from College No. 2 and respond to a couple of students.

-Dr. W did not respond to yesterday’s email and the Module 14 assignment for my DE class remains locked. Frustrating.

9:30-10:30 – I hang my laundry and put a few things in the drier. Still working on my closet, 15 minutes a day, and I purge more items. Then, I go through all the medicine cabinets in the house and discard our expired prescriptions.

10:30-12:00 – I watch a documentary on the 2019 mass shooting that occurred in Christchurch, New Zealand and that I’m assigning to my students this Monday. Then, I create a 10-question, multiple choice exam for the video and post it to Canvas.

12:00-12:30 – I post February’s expenditures/receipts to my budget spreadsheet.

12:30-1:00 – I have a little more of the fried rice dish and try to watch the second half of Indochine but keep falling asleep. I need to watch it when I’m fresh.

1:00 – 2:00 – I pull the plug, take the dog out, and lock up.  Kitchen duty and I do ALL the dishes, prepare my coffee, and make sure everything is ready for me tomorrow because it is so nice coming downstairs in the morning and not having to do dishes.

2:00-2:45 – L. says that SM [Met Director] replied, saying he remembered L. from the personal, guided tour he gave her in 2019. He sent the link to the website where she can apply for an internship and said internships start in June.  Sounds promising. L. says she’ll get vaccinated if she has to go to New York.

2:45-3:15 – Night time routine. Bed.
