David Dobrik You Tube scandal…he’s disgusting…

3/25/21. Thursday.

5:30 a.m. – No.

Back to sleep after an hour of listening to The Daily and What a Day.

10:30 –11:00 -  I go downstairs to greet the animal and see that she pooped near the front door. Great. I rub her tummy, she grabs her toy, and we go outside.  It  looks like rain so while she does her business, I bring my patio pillows inside and clean out my fountain (it’s clogged). Then, I pick up the dog poop in the yard.

-Kitchen duty and I prepare my coffee.

12:00-2:00 – Blog posts.

2:00-3:00 – I have leftover Chilean bass and read Daffodils.

3:00-4:30 – Shower. Lotion. Dress in Covid-19 uniform. I listen to Martinis and your Money.

- I braid my hair and read Daffodils.

4:30-5:00 – I take the dog for a walk.

5:00-5:30 – Yardwork.  There are only a few leaves to sweep – nothing major. HOWEVER, I start to take out the trash and find a dead, baby sparrow, slowly chirping and opening and closing it’s mouth on top of the trash can lid. It looks like it might have fallen from the roof. I’m horrified and have no idea what to do – it is sure to die in the next few minutes as it looks injured and sooo tiny.  This is very disconcerting and I hate myself for not rendering aid to this tiny creature, but I don’t know what to do…

5:30 – 6:00 – I prepare the Discussion Board for tonight’s 6:00 class and check class content to make sure everything is there. Good to go.

6:00-9:00 – Class starts and I post the AUDIO lecture and Google slides. The extra credit assignments are due and ten students emailed them to me.  I print them out, one by one, and reply to each student that I’m in receipt of their assignment.

-I respond to a few emails.

6:45-7:30 - I leave for Michaels to pick up a few frames for L.’s art projects and snack on sesame seed/honey covered cashews. I use my teacher membership for the discount.

-Home by 7:30.  At 7:45, I post tonight’s documentary.

-Personal admin. I prepare the box to return the Reebok toddler shoes that came the other day, then order the appropriate size for myself. I also order Natures Miracle and a new can opener – the other can opener broke in my hand a couple days ago. I need new ear buds – the cheap kind.  I ordered them previously, but received an entirely different product, which I processed for a refund, so I order a different brand today. I listen to Slates Political Gabfest during all of it.

-I place my Wine.com order for next month.

-Update this month’s budget.

-L. returns from work.

-8:30 – 9:00 - I post the Video Quiz, then frame L.’s projects with the new frames I purchased at Michaels. Everything looks great and I’m pleased with the frames I purchased.

-L. leaves for Pinkberry in Burbank.  She picks up N. and J. along the way.

9:00-10:00 – I hang around for awhile in case the students need to email me.  Then, I take attendance and send an e-mail blast to those students who did not sign in on the Discussion Board informing them that they received a 0 on tonight’s video quiz.   I also send individual emails to those students who scored poorly on the video quiz, accusing them of failing to watch the video.  The students I emailed all respond that their WiFi was down.  Uh-huh, sure. I listen to What Next.

10:00-10:30 – I log onto my DE#2 class and respond to two people on the Discussion Board, per the assignment.

-I check my French Cinema Discussion Board. I’m supposed to respond to two students regarding La Haine, but nobody has posted anything yet.  Oh well.

11:00 – 2:00 - L. returns from Pinkberry. I tell L. about the bird and ask her if she will remove it from the trash can lid. When she checks on the bird, she finds that it is still breathing! Oh no! It’s been suffering all this time! L. covers the bird with a cloth and says she will handle it in the morning.

I see a headline about a scandal involving the You Tube Vlog Squad, David Dobrik and his friend “Dom.”  Apparently, Dobrik filmed his friend raping a woman in a bedroom.  L. did not know about this scandal and thus begins the “You Tube rabbit hole” that L. takes me down for the next 3 hours.  Recall that L. is a You Tube afficianado - It’s actually pretty interesting and I’m kind of proud that I found information about a You Tube scandal that L. knew nothing about.  She tells me, “Good job, Mom.” :-)

2:00-2:30 – Night time routine. Bed.
