Day 9 - LA County enters Red Tier for the first time
L. and I stop at Philz Coffee…
3/23/21. Tuesday
10:00-12:00 – Check out is at 12:00 so I’m up and take one last, long luxurious shower under the “rain forest shower head.” Blow dry hair. Light make-up. Covid-19 uniform. Pack. I make sure not to forget our leftovers.
-L. is awake. She gets ready, then packs her bag.
12:00 – 12:30 - Good bye Casa Del Mar! L. and I aren’t breakfast eaters [unless it’s free -see yesterday’s post], but we are coffee drinkers. We stop at Philz Coffee on our way out of Santa Monica and L. gets a Macchiato to go, while I get a regular coffee. It’s nice and strong – I like this coffee house.
12:30-1:30 – Driving. We listen to Case File.
1:30-2:30 – Home and I greet the dog and take her outside. She didn’t destroy anything, but the yard is a mess. Apparently, it was windy while we were gone and it’s covered in leaves. Unpack everything, store my leftovers and lunch bag in the fridge, start a load of laundry, etc.
3:00-3:30 – I take the dog for a walk.
3:30-5:00 – Blog post.
5:00 –6:00 – I do an Insanity workout. This one is called Cardio Power and Resistance and I make it through without stopping, although my reps still aren’t as fast as the fitness instructors in the video.
6:00 – 7:00-Recover and I read this week’s chapter for my French Cinema class.
-L. decides a cheeseboard is in order and leaves to buy the ingredients.
7:00-10:00 – I go to work. I wasn’t able to do class maintenance on Monday so there is lots to do. I update attendance for my classes at College No. 1, then send an email notification to the students who missed class.
Next, I check email at College No. 2 and make sure the students can access this week’s module. Same thing with attendance – I check the missed assignments and then email those students individually asking if they need help. This is the week where the students, at College No. 2, are completing surveys in accordance with my evaluation and so I am trying to take a “hands-on, I care approach” so I get positive comments. My evaluator will begin surveying my class from now until the first week of April and I want everything to go well. I listen to True Crime Garage.
-I’m finished with this week’s French Cinema chapter so I log in and take a quiz. I miss one.
-My DE class at College No. 2 is over. The last step is a “walk through” tomorrow morning with the DE Coordinator so he can view my class and ask me a list of questions regarding my course material and how it’s delivered. I prepare my notes for the meeting and ready the Zoom link for tomorrow.
10:00 – 12:00 - L. declares the cheeseboard finished! We take it upstairs and watch two episodes of Broadchurch. The cheeseboard is amazing and L. and I finish the entire platter – there are only scraps left.
12:00 – 12:30 – Kitchen duty and I prepare my coffee for tomorrow.
12:30-1:30 – Night time routine. Bed. It’s an early night for me because I have a 9:00 a.m. Zoom meeting tomorrow.
