Day 9 - California Reopening Plan - Phase 2

8:00-8:30-I wake up and feel great. This is the most sleep I’ve had in a long time. I listen to Today Explained then take the dog out.

8:30-10:15 - I get dressed, while drinking my coffee, and pack my “bike kit”, then go for a 45-min bike ride. I bring my water and drink it along the way. I stop and eat two of the almond butter cookies I made a couple of days ago.

-L. found out that the mugger from 2 days ago actually tried to steal a car from a near-by neighborhood - he did NOT mug anyone on the paseo. However, upon stealing the car and trying to drive it away, he discovered that he could not drive a stick shift and so abandoned the car and hid in one of the paseos. He was later apprehended.

10:30-3:00 - I’m in my backyard most of the day, working at the furthermost western corner of the yard, on the trellis, for my Jasmine star vine. I create my last trellis for the Jasmine vine out of gardening wire, then spend over an hour cleaning up that corner of the yard which is overgrown and out of control - I use a saw and gardening scissors for this task. When done, I water all my plants then pressure wash several sections of the yard that are suddenly enveloped in spider webs. L. and I have killed a couple of spiders in the house recently - this happens every summer. In the middle of all of it, I eat the salad I brought home from B.’s last night. I listen to PBS News Segments and Air Talk.

3:00-4:30 - I take a nap. This is unusual for me.

4:30-5:15 - I grade more papers from my International Relations students. L. returns home, having spent most of the day with R. at Honu Coffee. We agree to watch Married At First Sight at 6:30.

5:15-8:00 - I grade more papers then heat up my salmon, baked potato, baked beans leftovers from B.’s house. I join L. in my room at 6:30 and we watch Married at First Sight and scream at the TV again.

8:00-11:30 - I grade more papers from my International Relations students. I listen to Southern Fried Crime and True Crime Garage while I work.

11:30 - 12:30 - I finish my last two blog posts and have two cookies and champagne.

12:30-2:00 a.m. - L. and I watch another episode of Married at First Sight.
