Day 8 of rollback-California Covid spike-Governor shuts us down

Class A - enrollment is at 4

Class A - enrollment is at 4

7/20/20. Monday.

7:30-10:00 – The dog is barking and she pooped in front of the door.  When I take her out, I see she also pooped on the patio.  She pees and I give her cheese.  I grab my coffee and head straight to my office to prepare my sales pitch for Class A.  I pull up the email lists for my three previous classes and send an email blast to all of my students, informing them that I’ve been thinking about them, am worried about their welfare, and by the way, you should enroll in Class A as it is only scheduled once a year. I also email my sales pitch to J. and he sends the email blast to his students as well.

My other colleague invites me to give a brief presentation about Class A tomorrow on Wednesday at 8:15.  Seriously?  8:15 in the morning? I graciously accept.

-L. goes to work at the art studio.

-I call the second locksmith and explain everything I told the first locksmith.  He is also extremely nice – I’m impressed by the customer service from both of them – and confirms that he has the same problem with his supplier.  In fact, delays to obtain the parts for the lift-latch lock were so extreme that his company refuses to work on these locks anymore.  He encourages me to try to obtain the parts myself, at which point, his company will repair the lock. The company’s name is Anderson and when I check I see that they are based in Taiwan – no wonder the delays were off the hook.  I find a second company – Swinson – who have made a business of providing generic parts that Anderson can’t provide.  I email them and provide pictures of the lock for their review and I receive an outgoing prompt stating that responses take 24 hours.

10:30-12:30 – Overwhelmed, I escape to The Day That Went Missing

1:00-3:00 – Shower.  I braid my hair in preparation for tomorrow.

3:00-5:00 – I read The Day That Went Missing

5:00 – L. returns from work.

5:00-6:00 – I do a 30-min HIIT workout app and a 30-min upper body tone app.

6:00-10:00 – I spend the rest of the evening completing my retirement paperwork and preparing a to-do list for my last day of work tomorrow, because I’M RETIRING!!! IT’S FINALLY HERE!! I tie up loose ends on my cases and field state job emails. I’m unclear as to whether or not I’ve prepared my paperwork correctly – hopefully, my Supervisor will be my guide tomorrow.

10:00-12:00 – L. and I watch two episodes of Love After Lockup and scream at the TV.

12:00-2:00 – I’m up too late, yet again.  Night time ritual and bed with a few Forensic Files thrown in.
