Day 62 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”

The fever dream continues…

The fever dream continues…

Wednesday. 10/28/20

7:45 - I’m up and I go downstairs to take the dog out. She’s still asleep so I rub her tummy and we go outside. She does her business and back inside we go. Pieces of chicken for her, coffee for me.

8:15-11:00 - Time for work. I have three morning classes on Wednesdays now. I “publish” the Discussion Boards and the classes start rolling.

-One by one, I email the students their essays with my edits and comments. When that’s done, I send an email blast to students from my first two classes regarding the importance of signing in on the Discussion Board at 8:30. I then update attendance for all three classes. All papers are graded, scanned, and returned to the students. When all is said and done, I graded 68 papers.

11:00-1:00 - Personal admin.:

-I enter my receipts into my spread sheet for October’s budget.

-My water bill went up significantly so I call the water company to find out why. It turns out they raised the cost of water for everyone by around $7.00. Great.

-I have a Group-on for wine tasting at the Agua Dulce Winery, but just when I was going to use it [March 2020], everything was shut down due to Covid-19. Well, it appears that wine tasting is back-on and they will still honor the Group-on!!! I book a “tour” for November.

-I check the Huntington Museum to see if there are any days available in November when I can go. There are two lone days open for the entire month, so I reserve one of the days and get tickets. They’re free because I’m a member.

-Tickets are still free the third Tuesday of every month at the Arboretum IF you can reserve them in time. Date/time to reserve is 11/1/20 at 9:00. I make a note in my calendar to reserve the tickets.

-I make a note to do the same for Descanso Gardens on 11/30/20.

-I check availability for other botanical gardens in southern California. Nothing.

-I prepare a grocery list for L. She gets the groceries.

- L. goes to work, but before she leaves I ask her to show me how to put air in my bike tires. I’m going for a bike ride today.

1:00-2:00 - Shower. Biking attire.

2:00-3:00 - I make a salad and have Trader Joes Basil Tomato Soup with it. I read Money Diaries.

3:00-5:00 - I thought I was going for a bike ride but am absolutely exhausted. I take a nap instead.

5:30 - 6:00 - I hear the garage door open and L. is home. I can’t figure out where I am or what day it is for a couple of minutes. I listen to What a Day.

7:00-7:30 p.m. - I take the dog for a walk.

7:30-8:15 - I water my plants.

8:15 - 10:00 - I adjust tomorrow’s lecture for Specialty Class No. 2 again and email the slides to L. for re-formatting.

10:00 - 11:30 - I scroll through numerous, potential documentaries on the website, BBC - The Documentary, and finally find a documentary on BLM that will work for my Interest Group module for my Core Class. I listen to it in it’s entirety and start preparing questions for the video quiz.

11:30-1:30 a.m. - I record lecture for Specialty Class No. 2.

1:30-2:00 - I order a pair of yoga pants from Kohls. The yoga pants I currently have are 6-years-old and falling apart.

2:00-2:30 a.m. - L. airdrops my lecture into Canvas. We discuss the newly formatted slides she created for my Chapter 12 module and talk for a little bit before going to bed.

3:00-4:00 a.m. - Nighttime routine. Bed.
