Finished this book today…

4/10/21. Saturday.

8:30 – 9:30 - Shower. Lotion. Covid-19 uniform. Light make-up. Pack everything and load my car.

9:30-12:00 – B. returns with Starbucks and chocolate donuts and we have breakfast outside, on the patio, and talk politics.

12:00-1:00 – We watch a 60 Minutes episode on the Capital insurrection.

1:00-1:30 – Head home.

1:30-2:00 – Unload most of the car and take the dog out. I’m feeling fatigued again.

2:00 – 4:00 – It is so nice outside, I decide to read on my patio. Unfortunately, the dog pooped all over the patio (four places) so I spend some time cleaning it up.

I finish Small Fry. This was an excellent memoir from Steve Jobs’ eldest daughter, Lisa, whom he had from a previous relationship, before he married his wife Laurene and had three children. This is not a cohesive narrative…rather it’s written in a series of snippets detailing the author’s life, as if the reader is viewing photographs and Lisa is providing a description of each photo.  She must be reviewing journals she wrote as a child because her memory is incredibly vivid…it’s really remarkable.

And, yes, Steve Jobs is woven throughout her life, entering here, exiting there, and basically acting like a cold, distant prick to both Lisa and her mother over their entire lives. It is one incident after another over two decades so that when you finally put the book down, you’re left with the thought, “What an asshole!” No, it’s not because he’s a misunderstood, creative genius…he’s actually just an asshole. RIP, man.

4:00-5:00 – I eat leftover salmon, salad, and part of a baked potato for lunch and read Good Talk.

-L. returns from work.

5:00-6:30-Exhausted. Is this fatigue from the J&J vaccine? I have to lie down.

6:30-7:30 – I take the dog for a walk.

8:00-9:00 – I do an Insanity-Cardio Plyometric workout.

9:00-9:30 – Recover.  I have a glass of champagne and read Good Talk.

9:30-10:00 – I bring in the rest of my things from the car.

10:00-11:30 – Kitchen duty. I sweep the downstairs and wash the floor mats, then clean my toilet and the downstairs bathroom toilet. I put away my laundry from a few days ago and listen to Case File.

11:30-12:00 – More Good Talk.

12:00-12:45 – Nighttime routine. Bed.
