Day 44 of Phase 3 - California Covid spike

At Hart Park…

Tuesday. 7/8/20

7:00 - 9:00 - Up and I wake up the dog - she’s still sleeping. I take her outside and give her cheese, then warm up my coffee and go upstairs. Shower. Light make-up. Hiking attire. I listen to The Daily.

9:00 - 12:00 - B. arrives and we go to Hart Park so we can hike up the mountain and see the bison. We make it to the top, but the bison never come over - they look like little toys at the bottom of the mountain. It’s actually cool out and there’s a nice breeze. I don’t mask on the trail. I have some cherries and chocolate along the way.

After, we sit at a picnic bench, in the shade, eat the breakfasts that we brought and talk politics - it’s nice. I packed several food items in my insulated lunch bag and end up eating the sloppy joe mix I made last night. B. has two breakfast burritos that he purchased from a mini-mart.

12:00-12:30 - B takes me to the dealership to show me the SUV he’s thinking of buying. I like it.

12:30 - 2:30 - Home and I read The Day That Went Missing, then take a nap. At 2:15, I touch up my make-up and get ready.

2:45 - 5:00 - B. arrives and we go to Olive Terrace for outdoor happy hour - I made 3:00 p.m. reservations yesterday. Dine-in is still banned, but they have outdoor seating, under a huge canopy, and multiple fans going in order to circulate the air. I have the quesadilla and two glasses of champagne at happy hour prices. I’m having a good time. One other couple is there, seated far enough away.

5:30 - 9:30 - we go back to B.’s house and watch the first three episodes of Search Party, a series that I’ve wanted to see for a few weeks. I only have HBO Go and can’t get it, but the first three episodes are on You Tube, so they’re free. I really, really like this series and, so far, there are 30 episodes. B. signs up for HBO Max and we watch three more episodes (each is 22-minutes long). If we watch the rest of the episodes within the next 15 days, B. can cancel and the episodes are free - the plan is doable.

9:30-11:30 - Home and L. and I watch Love After Lockup and scream at the TV. Nighttime routine. Bed. A good day.
