Day 38 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”

Spumonis Restaurant…

Spumonis Restaurant…

Sunday. 10/4/20

9:00 - 10:30 - I’m up. My stomach is bothering me today so I lay in bed and listen to True Crime Garage. I take Advil, grab the heating pad, and go back to sleep.

10:30 - 11:00 - I go downstairs and take the dog out. I finally wash my beach blanket and dump the sand out of my beach bag. This is terrible, but my sleeping bag is still in the back seat of my car after my last “tent time” with B, so I finally roll it up and put it away. Coffee. I have a few bites of the non-fat Greek yogurt that L. bought - it tastes terrible, but I already put diced apples and walnuts in it so I don’t want to waste the food.

11:00 - 12:00 - I check my phone and there is a text from my colleague J. He asked me, previously, to be a reader for the Constitutional Essay contest and I agreed, but was never provided with any time frames. His text says that the essays were posted and must be reviewed by 7:00 a.m. TOMORROW. WHAT?! I will never meet that deadline - it’s impossible. I run downstairs and spend an hour trying to access “Turnitin”, yet another platform that I’ve never used, with J.’s user name and password. I FINALLY find the essays and see that each paper averages around 9 pages and there are 13 papers to review. I also note that he emailed me and other instructors, and several of the instructors are upset over the short turnaround time. There is no way that I can complete this task, even if I worked straight through until tomorrow morning. Forget it. Spoiler Alert: J. later extends the deadline to 10/16/20.

12:00-12:30 - I finally log all of my receipts into my budget spreadsheet for September - I was a little behind.

12:30-1:30 - I do a 1-hr HIIT Full Body Circuit app with 5-pound weights but I have to stop in the middle for awhile. Not feeling good.

1:30 - 2:00 - I tidy my room and clean my bathroom floors, counters, and toilet. Then, I vacuum my bedroom and the landing.

2:00-3:30 - Shower. Lotion. Dressed. Light make-up.

3:30-4:45 - Monday’s class has a shortened lecture because the Midterm is scheduled so I’m able to knock out a recorded lecture in an hour.

4:45 - 7:00 - B. arrives and we drive to Spumonis. He has a “buy one get one free” birthday coupon and it includes free drinks. I get the angel hair cheka and B. gets something??? We have a round of drinks because FREE! The food is good!

7:30 - 8:30 - Home and we watch an episode of Ratched.

9:30 - B. leaves. I have an early day tomorrow because my substitute teaching training starts at 8:30.

9:30-12:00 - I grade several Socratic Seminar assignments from Specialty Class No. 1

12:00-1:00 - Night time routine. Bed.
