Day 21 - Governor Newsom imposes new restrictions
Mission Inn restaurant…
12/6/20. Sunday.
8:00 – 10:45 - I’m up and I take another long hot shower. I’m ready and packed by 10:00. L. wakes up and starts getting ready. We have brunch reservations at the Mission Inn Restaurant at 11:00.
11:00 – 12:30 - We’re back, having just eaten here yesterday. It never gets old. This time, it’s a champagne brunch. L. and I both get the salmon and it’s amazing! This is a prix fixe menu and brunch comes with a salad and dessert. Everything is very good.
12:30 – 1:30 - Brunch is over and we leave for Caseys Cupcakes to buy a few for the road. Back to the Mission Inn and L. and I know we’re locked out because we missed check-out time, so the front desk reinstates our key cards. Back to our hotel room and we grab our suitcases and leave. Valet is fast and we are on the road by 1:30.
1:30-3:00 – Driving
3:30-4:30 – Home and I unpack everything and start a load of laundry.
4:30-7:30 – Gardening. The leaves are a mess but I rake every last one. Spoiler alert: tomorrow morning the yard is covered in leaves again.
7:30-8:30 – I have my leftover calamari from Marios for dinner and read a Money Diary. I hang up my laundry so it can air dry.
8:30-9:30 – I do class prep for tomorrow morning and make sure everything is ready.
9:30-11:30 – I finish putting up the Xmas decorations. I wrap the banisters with garland and hang Xmas ornaments on it. Then, I vacuum the stairs because pine needles. A few repairs are needed for the Xmas decorations: an earring fell off of a Xmas barbie and a snowman’s head fell off of it’s wooden platform. I superglue them both.
11:30-12:30 – I do a 1-hr HIIT full body circuit with 5-pound weights.
12:30-3:00 a.m.- I dust all the surfaces and tchotchkes in the dining room area, then move all the furniture, put my knee pads on, and scrub the floor on my hands and knees. The dining room is finally finished and ready for Xmas. The kitchen, however, remains.
3:00-3:45 – Night time routine. Bed.
