Day 20 of Governor Newsom’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”
Our favorite holiday…
Wednesday. 9/16/20.
7:30 - 8:45 - A crow wakes me up. I lay in my sleeping bag for awhile, then unzip the tent and go inside B.’s house to make sure my students are signing in on the Discussion Board. Today is a straight lecture - no supplementary material - which I recorded previously and posted to Canvas.
8:45 - 11:00 - I take a shower and B. gets Starbucks. At around 9:30, we sit outside on the patio, true campers that we are, and have breakfast; grapes for me, donuts for him. I don’t return to my classes until around 11:00. Lecture ran without incident - no emails from the students.
11:00 - 1:00 - Still on the patio. We talk politics, look at B.’s “golf-course backyard”, and agree we should “camp” again. Super fun! I help B. move the tent to the patio - we don’t want to disassemble it because we’ll be camping soon.
1:00 - Home and while I was gone L. put up almost all of the interior Halloween decorations! What a surprise and they look great!! She’s not home, but I finish what she started and clean the entire downstairs, dusting, mopping, etc. There were a few decorations she missed, so I added those, too.
In the middle of everything, I take a break and reprogram my sprinkler system. It looks like there was a power outage and the sprinklers have been coming on at crazy hours. This takes some time.
I break again, have more of my casserole, and read Schuyler’s Monster.
As I go, I wash the couch covers (3) and our floor mats (2).
L. made cookies, with frosting and raspberries, so I have one. Delish!
Wine.com arrives early!!! Christmas!!
7:30 - 11:30 - I prepare my PP slides and audio clips for the lecture I’m about to record. This will be played during tomorrow’s 2:30 class (Specialty Class No. 2 ). Then I record lecture.
R. comes over and he and L. watch Hellraiser I and II on the couch.
11:30-12:00 - L. airdrops my lecture so I can load it onto Canvas. I start a load of laundry.
12:00-1:00 - I prepare my PP slides and notes so I can start recording lecture, first thing in the morning, for my 7:00 p.m. class (Core Class) tomorrow.
1:00-2:30 - Food prep. I prepare breakfast and a salad for tomorrow and pull out salmon for dinner. Clean the kitchen - what’s new?
2:30-3:00 - I water my plants. I know it’s late and I’m weird.
3:00-3:30 - I unpack my overnight bag and camping supplies and put everything away.
3:30-4:00 - Night time routine. Bed.
