Class enrollment is at 6 today…

Wednesday. 7/22/20.

6:30 - 8:00 - Up and I shower and get dressed in a work appropriate shirt. I spackle on my make-up in preparation for my Zoom call at 8:15, because if you don’t wear a ton of makeup, you look like a thumb or an egg in the video chat. Downstairs and I take the dog out and give her cheese.

8:15 - 8:30 - In my office, with coffee, and I get my notes together and Zoom in at the appropriate time to pitch my class. I really hope this works.

8:30 - 9:00 - I field emails from students. There’s a significant amount of interest in Class A after the email blasts that J. and I sent out yesterday, but two of my students tell me that there’s a prerequisite clause and they can’t enroll UNLESS they’ve already had Class Gold Star, and they haven’t taken that class yet. I need to see if Admissions will waive that requirement and email J. to see if he knows the answer to this question.

9:00-10:00 - Although I processed out of my State job yesterday, I’m actually still on the books until 9/1/20 (I’m on vacation the entire month of August). Yesterday, was my last physical day in the office, but there’s still a handful of items that I need to resolve so I log onto my state job email and take care of business. Breakfast is Sees candy.

10:00 - 10:30 - I pack my tactical pants, polo shirt, raid jacket, and OC spray and put them in my personal vehicle - from this point forward, I don’t have to make a distinction; it’s simply “my car.” Then, I drive to the car wash to get an Express clean, which is just the exterior - I don’t have to get out of my car. I clean the interior myself now, because of Covid-19.

10:30-11:30 - To work, and I remain in the lobby until a colleague approaches. I no longer work there, so it’s not fair to use my key code and let myself in - that would be weird. I hand her the bag of my last remaining items and ask her to put it on my supervisor’s desk. I’m done. [‘brush the palms of your hands together’ emoji].

11:30-12:30 - To Home Goods to purchase a picture frame for the Sedona-Mii Amo picture that our waiter took of L. and I, with the red rock as a backdrop. This is the first retail store I’ve been in since Covid-19 emerged in March [Turners doesn’t count]. Prior to Covid-19, Home Goods was a bit of a mess, with items crammed together and piled on top of each other at every turn. This is no longer the case and all items are carefully displayed - the shelves look organized and much nicer. Everyone is masked and there are social distance stickers all over the floor, along with “one-way” arrows. I keep getting turned around and accidentally going the wrong way in the aisles - it’s hard to figure out the correct direction. When I mention this to L., she mimes repeatedly running into a wall, like a robot - very funny! I find a picture frame and leave quickly.

1:00-3:30 - I have a frozen meal I made several weeks ago - salmon with white beans. After lunch, I take a nap since I didn’t get much sleep the night before.

3:30-5:00 - I sweep and trim the backyard, then water all of my plants.

5:00-6:00 - I talk to B.

6:00-7:30 - I lay out my biking clothes for tomorrow and prepare my breakfast and lunch. I also prepare my coffee.

7:30-9:00 - I’m concerned that the three chicken breasts L. bought will turn so I boil them while I work on my blog.

9:30 - 10:00 - I prepare my Zoom presentation for J.’s class tomorrow (9:00 and 11:00) and make sure I have the link to log in.

10:00-12:00 - L. and I watch Love After Lockup and scream at the TV.

12:00-1:30 - Nighttime ritual and bed.
